Jaclyn Stapp featured on the cover of Boca Raton Observer!
Jaclyn and Scott Stapp talk marriage, music, children, and keeping life simple in this 6-page spread in the August issue of the Boca Raton Observer.
He’s a rock star. She’s a beauty queen. But perhaps this celebrity couple’s most important role is as mom and dad to their three children.
On this particular summer afternoon, Scott Stapp, the handsome lead singer of the Grammy- winning band Creed, and his wife, Jaclyn, whose many tides include model, aud1or and Miss New York USA 2004, are in their cozy West Boca Raton home, squeezing in a phone interview before their 4-year-old daughter, Milan, and 12-year-old son, Jagger, come racing through the door after a long day at school. Jaclyn, who’s spent a good part of her glamorous life on stage being judged for looks, talent and personality, knows that in a few minutes he’ll be stationed at the dining room table, helping with some not-so-glamorous homework. Her designer bag is scuffed with bottles and diapers for their youngest son, Daniel, 1, and even though it’s mid afternoon on a weekday, she’s still not sure what the family will have for dinner.

Wacky Jacky
Jacky is different from her classmates. Her family is from Jordan, she eats strange food and she has crazy, wild hair. But Jacky volunteers at the children’s hospital, where her best friend lives, and she does her best to be herself.
One day Jacky learns of a local beauty pageant, and makes the decision to compete. She has no idea how much this one event will change her life for the better.
This is the real-life story of Jaclyn Stapp, unlikely beauty queen, told in rhyme with bright and colorful illustrations. While beauty is sometimes said to be skin deep, Stapp doesn’t believe it has to always be this way. Now Stapp empowers at-risk youth, champions women’s rights, and enriches the lives of underprivileged children. Wacky Jacky is truly beautiful from the inside out.

“Umatilla beauty queen’s mission: stop bullying”
UMATILLA — When she was young and attending the same school, Jaclyn Nesheiwat Stapp told Umatilla Elementary School kids that she was teased by other students about being thin, looking like a boy, having lots of hair and wearing different clothes. Umatilla beauty queen’s mission: stop bullying
“I wanted to be Miss Universe,” Stapp said. “I was teased and taunted for looking different and dressing different. It was hard and sad. I kept it to myself.”
Stapp, who grew up to win numerous beauty pageants, said in recent years she had noticed more news reports about bullying incidents. That was a reason she wrote “Wacky Jacky: The True Story of an Unlikely Beauty Queen,” which has an anti-bullying message.
“Right now the bullying issue is so near and dear in my heart,” said Stapp, who has school-aged kids. “Things that go on in schools today really hit me hard. I wanted to help make a difference.”
